Leisure & Recreation

We deliver a wide range of community services, programs and activities for local residents, often in partnership with other local service providers.

Wonga Wetlands

Wonga Wetlands is a living example of conservation in our city - where environmental innovation and the protection of our native plants and wildlife can be seen up close in a picturesque floodplain environment. Incorporating seven lagoons across 80 hectares, Wonga is home to spectacular ancient red gums and a variety of wildlife, including 176 bird species, all relying on the wetland for survival.

To learn more visit: alburycity.nsw.gov.au/wonga

Wonga is open seven days a week from 7.30am until 7.30pm, but you’re welcome anytime. If visiting outside these hours, come in via the small gate adjacent to the main entrance. Due to the sensitive nature of the wetlands and to protect the bird population NO BIKES or DOGS are allowed on the wetland or Wonga Loop trails.

Cycling & Walking Trails

Albury is a great place to explore walking or cycling. We are served by more than 50km of interlinked trails - on and off-road, with options suitable for movers of all ages and abilities. Download an overview of the Albury Trails Map from the AlburyCity website, or for a full guide call the Albury Visitor Information Centre.
