Melrose Park Sports Pavilion

About this project

The Melrose Park change rooms and amenities are at the end of their useful life. Designs have been developed in consultation with the Melrose Football Club. The new sports pavilion building will address the identified amenity deficiencies such as lack of female change facilities, additional accessible public toilets, storage and community space with canteen facilities.

The NSW Government is providing $350,000 through an election commitment towards female friendly facilities. Council has been successful in securing $257,000 through Stronger Country Communities program round 4 for the project while Melrose Football Club is also contributing to the project.

Due the damaged caused to the existing building from fire, it was demolished. Temporary facilities have been funded through collaboration between the Melrose Football Club, Albury Wodonga Football Association and AlburyCity.

The construction work is complete, and contractor demobilised. Surrounding area has been seeded.

Building construction is nearing completion. Internal fit out is in the final stages while perimeter concrete works are well underway.

Soffit linings, suspended ceilings and tiling are completed. Joinery, toilet fit out and internal painting has commenced.

Blockwork and roofing are nearing completion. Guttering is attached and work has commenced on the underside of the roof. Internal works continue.

Blockwork and service installation continues.  Roof work commenced this week.

At the Council meeting held on 27 November 2023, Council accepted the tender from Premier Building Construction Pty Ltd (PBC) for the construction of the Melrose Park Sports Pavilion.  Construction is scheduled to commence in early 2024.

18 August 2023

After a lengthy detailed design process, the construction tender was uploaded to Tenderlink today. Tenders close 12 September 2023. Following assessment, a report will be presented to Council recommending a preferred contractor.

1 April 2022

There has been delays in progressing the detailed design of the building however procurement processes are well underway now and scheduled to close on 22 April 2022. Following the engagement of the design consultant, a review of timelines for detailed design completion, construction Tender awarded, construction commencement and project completion will be undertaken.
