Gindaymanha Sports Carnival
Gindaymanha is a true sports carnival with a round robin touch football competition and plenty of other fun and entertainment mixed in.
Young people from across the region are invited to get active, build confidence and connect with their community at the annual Gindaymanha Sports Carnival and a series of free touch football training sessions in the lead-up to the event.
Now in its tenth year, the event takes its name from the Wiradjuri word Gindaymanha, meaning “fair play” — a spirit that sits at the heart of the day. The carnival is a celebration of fun, fairness and friendship, welcoming young people of all backgrounds and abilities.
The 2026 Gindaymanha Sports Carnival will be held on Wednesday 15 April 2026, bringing together participants for a day of friendly touch football, teamwork and community connection. The event provides a safe, inclusive environment where young people can enjoy sport, strengthen friendships and proudly represent their local area.
In the lead-up to the carnival, free touch football training sessions will begin on 9 March 2026 at local parks across Albury. Open to beginners and experienced players alike, the sessions are designed to help participants develop skills, boost confidence and form connections ahead of the big day. Young people can attend casually, learn the fundamentals of the game and meet others who will be taking part.
The Gindaymanha Sports Carnival is open to young people aged approximately 9 to 15 years. Participation in both the training sessions and the carnival is free.
In addition to the on-field action, families can enjoy a vibrant program of free entertainment and creative activities, including a live DJ, arts and crafts, dance competitions, jewellery-making workshops and more. Free food and drinks will be provided for all participants throughout the day.
