One of regional Australia’s most anticipated light experiences is set to return to Albury, with Aurora – In Bloom transforming the Albury Botanic Gardens into an immersive after-dark attraction this autumn.
Part of Laservision’s internationally recognised Luna Light Journeys series, the reimagined experience will run from Friday 20 March to Saturday 11 April, operating Wednesday to Sunday each week for a strictly limited season. The event is expected to attract visitors from across the Riverina, North-East Victoria and beyond, delivering a strong boost to local visitation and the evening economy.
This year’s all-new experience invites visitors to explore a living garden of light, where colour, sound and technology combine to reawaken the natural landscape and offer a shared experience for families, friends and visitors of all ages.
Albury Mayor Kevin Mack said Aurora has become a standout event on the city’s annual calendar, showcasing Albury as a destination for high-quality cultural and tourism experiences.
“Aurora quite literally lights up our city, drawing people into our Botanic Gardens and encouraging them to experience Albury in a new way,” Mayor Mack said.
“It creates a unique opportunity to attract visitors, support local hospitality and accommodation providers, and strengthen Albury’s reputation as a vibrant regional centre for events.”
A reimagined garden experience
The 2026 Aurora – In Bloom experience features:
- Large-scale immersive light installations woven throughout the gardens
- Interactive elements responding to movement and touch
- Atmospheric soundscapes guiding visitors on a self-paced journey
- Striking projections transforming familiar spaces into dynamic visual environments
- Layered colour displays celebrating seasonal change and renewal
Each element has been designed to encourage exploration and repeat visitation, ensuring no two visits feel the same.
Produced by Laservision and presented in partnership with AlburyCity, Aurora forms part of the globally recognised Luna Light Journeys program, which delivers large-scale outdoor light experiences in major cities and regional centres across Australia and internationally.
Moving the popular attraction from winter to autumn aligns the event with both the NSW and Victorian school holiday periods.
Located just minutes from Albury’s CBD, the Botanic Gardens site allows visitors to easily combine their visit with dining, shopping and entertainment, further supporting local businesses throughout the season.
Tickets are on sale now, with visitors encouraged to secure their preferred session early due to strong demand in previous years.
