18 Dec 2025

Developed by Questacon - the National Science and Technology Centre - the travelling Australia in Space exhibition celebrates the nation’s contemporary achievements in the space sector. The exhibition invites visitors to explore how space operations push human ingenuity, transform everyday life and inspire the next generation of innovators.

“We’re over the moon to host Australia in Space: In Orbit,” said Albury LibraryMuseum’s Museum Coordinator Emma Williams. “It’s a fantastic opportunity for children and families to explore the science and stories behind Australia’s contributions to space, right here in Albury.”

The exhibition focuses on life above Earth, offering a hands-on exploration of microgravity, habitat design and the challenges of everyday tasks in space. Visitors can snap photos aboard a mock space station, test their satellite engineering skills and discover the thousands of objects currently orbiting our planet.

“This exhibition is a blast for anyone curious about space. It highlights Australia’s ingenuity and the diverse people behind our space achievements, from engineers and scientists to women and First Nations contributors.”

The exhibition runs from this Saturday, 20 December, to 15 March 2026, promising a school holiday experience that is truly out of this world.

Visitors will leave with a new perspective on how space research drives everyday technologies, and a greater appreciation of Australia’s role in global space innovation.
