Funding boost for community and cultural projects in Albury
Seven community-led projects will share in $25,000 through Round One of AlburyCity’s Community and Cultural Grants Program for 2025/26.
The grants will support initiatives ranging from storytelling and theatre to cultural festivals, road safety education, and community celebrations – each designed to strengthen connection, celebrate diversity and enhance Albury’s cultural life.
Recommendations were provided by an independent assessment panel, which included AlburyCity Councillor Geoff Hudson, Serena Kent from Yes Unlimited (community sector), and Beck Palmer from the Flying Fruit Fly Circus (cultural sector).
“With so many fantastic proposals this was a very tough round for our panel to decide, which is great problem to have! They reflect the richness of our community and the passion of local people who want to make Albury a more connected and vibrant place,” Cr Hudson shared.
Funded projects include:
- The Northcott Society – Walk and Roll ($5,000): A neon-themed community event along Albury’s Riverside Precinct promoting inclusion, accessibility and social connection. Designed for people of all abilities, the free event will combine movement, music and stalls in a fun, family-friendly setting.
