Your say on the future of Albury Airport starts now

AlburyCity is calling on residents, businesses and travellers to help guide the future of Albury Airport as work begins on a new Aviation Strategy that will set the direction for the airport through to 2030.

04 Dec 2025

The community is encouraged to share what matters most - whether it’s more destinations, improved facilities, better services or stronger connections between the airport and the region’s economy - through AlburyCity’s Have Your Say platform.

“The Aviation Strategy will provide a clear framework to guide Albury Airport’s development over the next five years, ensuring it continues to support economic activity, meet community needs and respond to changes in the aviation industry, technology and customer expectations,” explained Albury Mayor Kevin Mack.

Albury Airport plays a central role in regional connectivity, linking more than 250,000 residents to destinations across Australia and supporting essential industries including tourism, freight, emergency services and aeromedical operations. It also serves as a key gateway for business travel and access to specialist health services.

The new strategy will focus on strengthening the airport’s financial sustainability, supporting aviation-related investment and employment, improving passenger experience, and ensuring infrastructure and services keep pace with demand. It will also align with the Towards Albury 2050 community vision.

AlburyCity will work closely with the community, industry, airlines and government partners to identify opportunities to grow passenger and freight services, improve operations and support long-term viability.

To get involved:

  • Complete the online survey, open until 9 January 2026.
  • Talk to us - we’ll be engaging directly with local businesses, airlines and regional stakeholders.
  • Visit the information stand at Albury Airport or at selected community events to speak with staff and provide feedback in person.

Keep an eye out for us at:
- QEII Square (Dean St end): 5 December (11am - 1pm)
- Lauren Jackson Sports Centre: 6 December (10am - 1pm)
- East Albury IGA: 10 December (2pm - 4pm)

All feedback will directly inform the draft Aviation Strategy, which will be released for public exhibition in early 2026.
