Albury World is a community-based art project led by artist Jeff McCann with an outcome of a mural designed collaboratively by residents of all ages. From playgrounds, landmark buildings to dinosaurs, it weaves together creative ideas that evoke a sense of home and belonging in a whimsical visual language.
In the first phase, Jeff held a series of in-person and digital workshops with children and adults, where he guided creative interpretations of what Albury means to them. Jeff then designed the mural that embodies artwork submissions collated from workshops by digital drawings and paper collage.

In the second phase, Jeff took on mural painting of Albury World on the exterior wall of Albury Swim Centre. He also engaged local artists to contribute to the production, which at the same time help them gain experience in public art.
The mural will be a significant visual reference for Albury’s major gateway artworks in the future, the concept development of which requires an understanding of the people and the region that we call home.
