Upcoming Works - Sewer Mains Inspection
Albury City’s Water and Wastewater Team are undertaking a sewer gravity main cleaning and inspection project as part of Council’s ongoing commitment to maintaining a reliable and efficient sewer network for the Albury community. Council has awarded a contract to KBC Plumbing and Pipe Relining to facilitate this project.
This work involves thoroughly cleaning the sewer gravity mains to remove blockages, debris and sediment that can build up over time and interfere with the system’s performance. Once the pipelines are cleaned, specialised CCTV cameras are used to inspect their condition and identify any structural issues that may need attention in the future.
Although this project does not include repair or rehabilitation works, it will provide essential information that guides long-term maintenance planning and helps prioritise future upgrades.
By proactively assessing the health of the sewer network, Council can reduce the risk of sewer overflows, protect public health and the environment, and ensure reliable service for residents.
The insights gained through these inspections will support well-informed decisions that extend the lifespan of critical infrastructure and contribute to the ongoing growth, sustainability and liveability of Albury.
